Angie works on a regular basis with major clients throughout the UK
providing a variety of services. Examples of clients and a summary of projects undertaken
are outlined below:
 | Flora - Van den Bergh Foods
Angie has supported Flora with a number of projects over two years and provided
dietetic expertise supporting Flora Pro.activ, a cholesterol lowering spread containing
plant sterols. Activities undertaken include advice and support of key trade account
managers, development of customer materials for use in retailers and on the Pro.activ
Website and scientific briefing information for health professionals. Specific projects
include:
 | Heartscape 1999
Angie was a key adviser to Heartscape - a national public health event which toured the UK
during June & July 1999. Heartscape ( a giant inflatable anatomically correct red
heart) housed an interactive educational exhibit, designed to raise awareness of
risk factors for Coronary Heart Disease. Angie provided crucial advice regarding the
information portrayed, the equipment used and the recruitment of staff for the project.
She then toured with Heartscape as a media consultant and helped to achieve widespread
media coverage in national and local radio, press and television. For this project Angie
undertook and successfully completed the Unilever Media Training
Programme.

 | Sainsbury's / Flora Healthy Heart
Store Tours 2000 Another national public health education
initiative. Angie was the project leader on behalf of Sainsbury's and Flora recruiting
over 300 Sainsbury's stores and 200 dietitians to provide store tours for customers
interested in healthy eating for a healthy heart. In addition to project management, Angie
developed all materials used in these store tours including briefing packs, presentation
materials for use by Dietitians and Pharmacists and customer leaflets and
materials.

 | Nutritionist to the Federation of
Bakers
The Federation of Bakers is the trade organisation for bakers throughout the UK. Angie
provides advice and information regarding the nutritional function of bread as the most
important staple food in the UK diet. Functions include the development of consumer
materials and dissemination of educational materials to Health professionals.

 | Nutritionist to William Jackson
Bakery
William Jackson Bakers are market leaders in the production of functional bread products.
Current products include Nutribread for Women - a bread containing
phytoestrogens,
calcium, evening primrose oil and low sodium sea salt and Nutribread for the Family
- a wholemeal bread containing Omega 3 fatty acids and low sodium sea salt. Functions
include review of published scientific literature to support product development, advice
regarding marketing and advertising campaigns, participation in media activity and support
for the marketing and trade teams.

 | Occasional Lecturer at SouthBank
University, London
Angie is the Nutrition Lecturer for the Faculty of Health at Southbank
University. This includes providing key nutrition lectures on all aspects of nutrition
throughout life from pregnancy and infant feeding, to diet for diabetes and coronary heart
disease, to nutrition support of the elderly.

 | Food In Focus - Meat and
Livestock Commission
Food in Focus is a nutrition information guide, produced by the MLC, and is designed for
use by healthcare professionals who give nutrition advice to the public. Angie has
developed the coronary heart disease section of this programme, which is due for
publication in early 2000. Based on recent nutrition reports and the latest scientific
papers, the pack provides a valuable tool for health professionals giving nutrition
presentations.
